Vandalia Junior High School

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day! Behind every bright hallway and clean classroom is a custodian working tirelessly to keep our schools safe, healthy, and welcoming. You handle the heavy lifting, the unexpected messes, and everything in between with smiles on your faces. To our amazing custodial crew: thank you for being the quiet heroes who keep our school running every day!

Did you miss the first picture day, or just need a do-over? Picture retake day is next week!

Good afternoon families. First and foremost, I want to let you know there is not an emergency. Everyone is safe. Our intruder alarm went off at VES. All safety protocols were followed as if this was a real situation. It was a system malfunction and we have backup plans to use in the meantime while we get the system issue resolved hopefully by 4:00 p.m. We are about 10 minutes behind now with bus routes. We hope to see you this evening for our Homecoming football game. Go Vandals!

We are proud to announce that we are officially recognized as a Project ADAM Illinois Heart Safe School!

Project ADAM Illinois is a statewide initiative focused on preventing sudden cardiac death in schools and communities. As part of a national network, the program works with schools and organizations to establish Heart Safe environments by implementing Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs), ensuring access to AEDs, and providing CPR/AED training. The goal is to ensure staff and communities are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

A special THANK YOU to Officer Roedl and our School Nurses (Melissa, Brittany, & Kerri) for working hard to certify all of our schools!
