Hello!
My name is Ms. Moloney, and I am excited to recruit new band members from the 5th grade!
As you may know- we were supposed to have a recruitment night back in April. It had to be cancelled due to our COVID-19 school closure- but I am excited to be able to offer this experience in a new way!
Instead of me coming around to your music classes and demonstrating each instrument, you get a chance to explore the instruments on your own and pick the one you want to play! Simply visit my beginning band website to start! Beginning Band Website
You'll see an awesome video of some of our own Vandalia band kids! Then you can head to the instrument selection site. There are a few steps to take- and each step will take some time. Take your time, and you don't have to do every step in one day!
Once you have completed BOTH forms on the site- the Instrument Taste Test Form, and the Placement Form, I will email you and we will setup an online meeting to talk about which instrument you've picked, how band class will look during our hybrid learning model, and answer any other questions you might have! You can always email me with questions during the process as well.
Please remember- even if you are choosing remote learning for the first semester, you can still learn an instrument!

The 4th grade teachers at VJHS have put together an introduction of themselves and a brief orientation for incoming 4th grade students. This can be viewed in this slideshow.
We will not be having an in-person orientation this year as we are trying to limit the number of people that enter the school building.

If you plan to choose the Vandal All-In Remote Learning option for your child this school year, the deadline to do so is this Friday, 8/7. This is essential to our planning and preparation for our opening of school this year. Returning students can register on-line at teacherease.com by logging into your account. Any new students to the district would need to register at the school in which they would attend.
Returning students that are not registered by Friday, 8/7 will be placed in their attendance group for in-person learning. If you have questions, please call 283-5151
Due to inclement weather, VJHS baseball try-out scheduled for today, Monday, 8/3 has been canceled. Practice will resume Tuesday, 8/4 at 3pm at the Pit field.

VJHS In-Person Registration: 4th Grade: 8/3/20 - 8am-3pm 5th Grade: 8/4/20 - 8am-3pm 6th Grade: 8/5/20 - 8am-3pm 7th Grade: 8/6/20 - 8am-3pm 8th Grade: 8/7/20 - 8am-3pm New students to the district should plan to register at the respective dates by grade level.
In person registration at VJHS begins Monday, 8/3 for incoming 4th grade students between the hours of 8am and 3pm. Masks will be required upon entering the building. We ask to please limit the number in your family entering the building to two people.
Vandalia Junior High will have tryouts for baseball Monday, 8/3 from 3pm-4:30pm at the Pit field. Softball tryouts will also begin 8/3 from 6:30pm-8pm at the softball field. Students in grades 6,7, and 8 may participate

VJHS yearbooks have arrived! If you ordered a yearbook for the 2019-2020, they can be picked up at the junior high office between the hours of 8am-3pm on Tuesday-Thursday and 8am-12pm Friday of this week or between 8am-3pm Monday-Friday next week, 8/3-8/7.
