Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! A common question I am receiving is in regards to the Healthy School Meals for All. Both the Senate and House passed the Healthy School Meals for All Act in May and the Governor did sign it. What has not been highlighted or explained yet is that the Healthy School Meals for All is subject to state appropriations. At this time, the state has not appropriated any funds to reimburse the district and therefore the IL State Board of Education can not move forward with implementation of this until funding becomes available. In other words, the law passed but was not funded.

Vandalia CUSD #203 is hiring a second shift custodian. This is a 12 month position with benefits. Vandalia School District is hiring for a Crossing Guard. It is an hour a day on school attendance days, Monday through Friday (7:30-8:00 am and then again 3:00-3:30 pm). Pay is $14.00 an hour. The 2023-24 Online Registration will be open starting Monday, July 17th at 10 am. After registration is complete and you go to the payment area, please click only one time, be patient and wait for it to go through. If you have a question about payment going through, call us and we will check for you instead of clicking a second time. Free and reduced applications – If you received a letter or email stating that you already qualified I ASK THAT YOU DO NOT FILL OUT the online free and reduced application as the waiver has already been applied. As a reminder the waiver only applies to the registration fee. You are responsible for all other course fees. In-Person Registration for ALL SCHOOLS will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, 10 am - 6pm. If you need to register your student in person instead of online, you will do so at your child's respective buildings on Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Physical, Sports Physical, Dental-Miles of Smiles, and Vision examination forms along with all supply lists and registration fees will be posted on our district website at www.vandals203.org The Fayette County Health Department is available by appointment for those needing required immunizations.
