VJHS will have 4th grade orientation on Monday, August 9 from 5-6pm. Fourth grade teachers will be in attendance and students will be able to see their classrooms. Orientation will begin in the gymnasium.

VJHS baseball try-outs for 7th and 8th grade boys will begin Monday, Aug. 2 at 3pm at the Pit field. Participants must have a physical in the last 12 months and on file to participate.

VCUSD#203 Online Registration will begin Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Registration will take place online using our school management system, Teacherease. To complete registration items, please sign in to the Parent Portal at https://www.teacherease.com/. If you do not have a Parent Portal Account, please contact your child's school. If your student plans to participate in any school sponsored athletic activity this school year at VJHS, summer is a great time to get the required physical from a licensed physician.

Good evening. I am pleased to announce that CDC/IDPH/ISBE recognizes local control during Phase 5 as stated in the following paragraph. "Together with local public health officials, school administrators should consider multiple factors when they make decisions about implementing layered prevention strategies against COVI-19. Since schools typically serve their surrounding communities, decisions should be based on the school population, families, and students served, as well as their communities". The 21-22 school year will begin with a mask optional policy based on our current conditions. We removed layers of mitigations one at a time during the 20-21 school year as we returned to in person learning 5 days a week during the second semester. We are in an excellent place to take this next step. We will continue to monitor the health of our students and staff and adjust accordingly if needed. Attention VJHS Track! Due to the incoming weather and cold temperatures we are canceling today's home Jr. High track meet with Pana and BSE. At this time all other events remain on as scheduled.

Attention VCHS Vandal Football Fans! We are excited to be hosting our first varsity football game this Friday April 16th at 7pm. We will not require advance tickets for home spectators. We will allow home spectators up to capacity and require a mask to be worn for entry. All VJHS and VES students must be accompanied by an adult. No admission will be charged at the gate. No concessions will be sold and social distancing is encouraged. Thank you and GO VANDALS!
