Corrected Message from earlier this evening: Early Dismissal on Monday December 19th and Tuesday, December 20th and Christmas Break. Dismissal times for Monday and Tuesday are as follows: VES 2:00 PM walkers/pick-ups/and early bus students Pre-K AM 8:00 – 11:00 AM Pre-K PM 12:00 - 2:00 PM VJHS 4th Grade – 2:00 PM walkers/pick-ups/and early bus students 5th thru 8th Grades – 2:15 PM VCHS 2:15 PM There will be NO school from Wednesday, December 21st thru Tuesday, January 3rd. School will resume on Wednesday, January 4th.

It's that time of year for the annual FFA Christmas Canned Food Drive! We will be taking canned food and hygiene product donations from now until Friday, December 16th. Please drop the items off either in the Okaw Ag Room or in the VCHS office for pick-up.

16th Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal - served from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24th at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, 328 S. 3rd St. in Vandalia. There is No Charge. Reservations are not required. If you are in need of transportation, caring people are ready to come for you, bring you to the meal, and return you to your home. If you are unable to travel, deliveries will be made shut-in's only. Please call 618-322-8824 and leave a message by 1:00 pm on Nov. 22nd. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Reminder: Vandalia Community School District will be closed Friday, November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day.

VCHS Boys Basketball Game at South Central High School on Tuesday, December 6th will be bringing awareness to Alzheimer's and raising money towards finding a cure. Miss Keely Smith, VCHS Health/PE teacher along with her mom, Mrs. Lynn Riehm, SCHS Business Teacher are joining our schools together to make this an amazing event! There will be t-shirt sales, free throw pledges, silent auction, half-court shot, pizza sales, and 50/50 raffle tickets. We are also looking for silent auction items. Anyone can donate! School clubs/groups, businesses, individuals, whoever wants to raise money to help. If you are interested, email Miss Smith for more details! Flyer and T-shirt Order Form are attached. Orders are Due THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17th to the VCHS Office.

You are invited to the 4th Grade Patriotic Musical on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. This will be held in the VES Gymnasium. All 4th grade students should arrive no later than 6:45 and meet in the VES Little Theatre. Students please wear Red, White, and/or Blue for this musical. Please join us as we honor our Veterans, Military, Firefighters, Police Officers, First Responders and all others who serve our country.
