Vandal Pride at VJHS
Each Friday we encourage each student to wear Vandal red or a Vandal Gear shirt. Our hope is to help create a sense of school pride within our school.
What does this require?
Kids that wear their Vandal gear get a Vandal Voucher during their homeroom
Students who participate will write their name on a slip of paper & give it to their teacher. A student council member will be around during homeroom or study hall to collect the paper entries,
Each quarter a name will be drawn for a chance to win Vandal gear from each grade level.

Attention Football Fans, we are excited to kickoff our 1st home football game tomorrow night! Please be reminded of our Spectator Guidelines for High School Football Games:
1. All students who are not in high school must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. If the adult leaves the game, the student under their care must leave as well.
2. Once a student enters, they may not leave and reenter unless they are accompanied by an adult.
3. Elementary, Junior High, and High School students are expected to be seated for the majority of the game.
4. No throwing of any object is permitted. Objects will be confiscated.
5. Skateboards and bikes are not allowed inside of the gates.
6. All school rules apply at any school event.
7. Failure to comply with the above expectations will result in students being removed from the game and/or parent/guardian contact.
8. NO LOITERING in or around the concession stand area, behind the bleachers or restroom areas.
5th grade Beginning Band Night information:
If you love helping children, join our family. We are seeking Teacher’s Aides for Vandalia Community Unit School District #203. The position offers paid holidays, no nights or weekends, and is a perfect opportunity for parents with children in our district. Starting pay is $15.00 an hour – pay will be evaluated based on experience. Candidates should have their Paraprofessional License. This message is to make everyone aware that food deliveries to VJHS students from Door Dash or directly from a restaurant will not be permitted this school year. The safety of our students is the number one priority. Eliminating such deliveries helps us control who comes into our building during the school day. Thank you for your understanding. We would like to invite 4th and 5th grade students and parents/guardians to "Back to School Night" on Thursday, August 15 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. During this time, students can meet their teacher, visit their classroom and bring school supplies so that they are ready for their first day on Friday. Please enter through the VJHS main entrance. We look forward to seeing you all then.
This year during In-Person Registration on August 6, 2024, Kim Peery, SBLFCH Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will be offering School and Sports Physicals at VES from 3-6pm for $20.
We will also have a representative from Miles of Smiles here to help you sign up for the program during In-Person Registration. See the attached flyers for more information.

For anyone interested in trying out for the Jr High baseball team, tryouts begin this Monday August 5th from 8AM-10AM at pit field. Shorts are allowed for the first week of practice.
