Due to possible inclement weather, Vandalia Community Unit School District 203 will be dismissing school early today, April 13, 2022
Dismissal times are as follows:
VES – 12:30pm No PM PreK today and AM PreK bus routes will run as normal
VJH – 4th grade, walkers, pickups and early bus students – 12:30 pm; 5th – 8th grade 12:45 pm
VCHS – 1:00 pm
On April 13th Vandalia High School will be administering the PSAT to all freshmen and sophomores, and the SAT to all juniors. The freshmen and sophomores will be dismissed at 2:15. Juniors will be allowed to leave once testing is completed and seniors will not report to school on this day.

* Baseball and Softball for today(4/8) at Gillespie have been postponed to April 18th at Gillespie with a 4:30 start
* Softball will play at Altamont tomorrow(4/9) with an 11am start. It will be 1 varsity game followed by JV innings.
* Baseball Schedule for tomorrow's (4/9) Home Games will be as follows:
*11am - BSE vs Vandalia
*1pm - BSE vs Nokomis
*3pm - Nokomis vs Vandalia
VCUSD #203 will be dismissing school early on Wednesday, April 13th.

VES - 2:00 PM walkers/pick-ups/and early bus students; 2:10 PM Late bus students; Pre-K AM 8:00 – 11:00 AM Pre-K PM 12:00 - 2:00 PM
VJHS - 4th Grade – 2:00 PM walkers/pick-ups/and early bus students; 5th thru 8th Grades – 2:15 PM; VCHS - 2:15 PM
There will be NO school from Thursday, April 14th thru Monday, April 18th for Spring Break. School will resume on Tuesday April 19th.
The First Grade open house and musical will be on Tuesday April 5th at 6:00 p.m. The Kindergarten Open House and Musical will be on Thursday April 7th at 6:00 p.m. The children are asked to be in their classrooms by 6:45 p.m. The musical will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Today's high school boys and girls track meet at Hillsboro has been postponed until tomorrow Wednesday March 23 at 4:30.
VJHS IESA Solo & Ensemble Festival
Saturday, March 19th Vandalia Jr. High hosted a local IESA Solo & Ensemble Contest for music students. While the contest is usually held with multiple schools in attendance, this year the IESA encouraged directors to host their own contest for their students. Band director Amanda Moloney invited Professor Cliff Jourdan from Kaskaskia College to serve as the judge for the event.
The following students received a Division I (excellent) score:
Hayden Lay, Carly Eyman, Danika Hunter, Amalie Weihrauch, Payton Malone, Carter Jourdan, Kaleb Peebles, Brody Emerick, Bradyn McClintock, Justice DuPlayee, Drew Lewis, Clark Parmenter, Nicholas Jackson, and Zoey Warner.
Receiving a Division II (Superior) Score:
Cheyann Flowers, Dashel Whiteman, Eydan McDowell, and Preston Emerick.
A special congratulations goes to 8th grader Clark Parmenter for being awarded "Best of Day" by the judge for his solo on the marching tenor drums.

The VES 2nd Grade will be performing the musical "HATS!" on Tuesday March 15th @ 7:00 p.m. Please have all 2nd grade students in the VES Little Theatre by 6:45 p.m. Come out and enjoy the show!
